SUPERLITTLE: "DOESN'T LOOK HER AGE"
My husband, unwisely pointed out to me recently, that I am almost the same age my mother was when he met me.  Good one, Chuck...  He knows I'm trying to embrace the aging process gracefully...  but I currently have tendonitis and a tear in my rotator cuff, so I can't hug myself very well... haha!

I know it's completely irrational but honestly, sometimes I find myself thinking, "What's the point of doing all this painting when I'm already this old?  What am I going to do with all these paintings?"

Then, after I think this,  I go to my studio and paint some more!

Because when I paint, I'm not an age.  I'm just having the time of my life making discoveries about how painting works, and I know my paintings will find new homes!

I just saw an article recently about older women artists.    These are women artists who have been working for years and finally getting the attention they deserve.  Inspiration: Work hard, do what you love, and don't worry about getting older! Look what these women are doing!

I'm going to keep painting forever. I love the way I'm painting after just two years of painting.  Imagine how I could feel when I'm ninety...  After everything I will have discovered and experienced about the painting process - I'll be doing cartwheels, metaphoric ones probably, because of the shoulder issue... but I will be so glad that I never gave up painting "in my younger years" because I thought I was too old.

Back to the present: You can see what I've been doing at this time of my life on my website's "Color Story" pages.

If you are older like me, and you are doing something that you love to do that feeds your soul, tell me about it in the comments or send me an email.   I would love to share your excitement with you.
