The Big Shift

Three weeks ago, feeling a shift coming, I went through all my paintings one by one and asked "Does this bring me joy?"  As a result, I gessoed, sanded (my new favorite tool!) and gessoed again over 26 paintings.

It's all part of the shift I am making to approach my painting in a new way that more mindfully aligns with who I am at my core.  So, my eight year old granddaughter, Ariah, and I gathered all the goodies that were scattered around my studio and created a very special altar full of super good energy, where I can begin my work each day by greeting the beings and spirits that want to come and help me make my paintings.

And then, this happened....

'THE REAL ME", 24X24, is the first painting that celebrates the new energy  of my studio and my place in it.  She is the creative spirit of my art.  I'm looking forward to going where her flow will take me.
